Lift the document cover and then dampen a soft cloth with non-flammable glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and clean the thin glass strip located to the left of the flat bed glass thoroughly. A tiny spec of debris stuck on the ADF glass can cause a vertical line. This problem is usually resolved by cleaning the white pressure bar and the scanner glass strip. The scanner is the mechanism that reads in the documents that are being sent, scanned or copied. These types of lines are typically caused by dirt or white out on the ADF scanner glass. If black vertical line(s) appear on the copy of the Test Print continue to STEP f.į. If black vertical lines do NOT appear on the copy of the Test Print continue to STEP 5.
